About Jimmy Stephans

I'm Jimmy Stephans and this site is where I tell some stories, and spit out some opinions, from my 35+ years in and out of the pretty girl picture and website business. It is helpful to recognize the date of the stories. What applied back then isn't the same here in the social media age.

The name Jimmy Stephans is a pseudonym, also known as a tradename, I've been using consistently since the 1980s. The legal name is Jim Grady but I thought it to be a little plain and boring for the glamour photography business. Author maybe - and there is a popular one with that name. Accountant or dentist, maybe; but for a glamour photographer, not so much.

Use of a pseudonym, stagename or tradename is very common in entertainment related businesses. Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson. American fashion designer Ralph Lauren; best known for his Polo Ralph Lauren brand, was born Ralph Rueben Lifshitz. No big deal - just a name that is easy to pronounce and remember.

I've been in the pretty girl picture business over 35 years but now consider myself semi-retired. I spend most of my days in Avon, Colorado or Clearwater, Florida USA as I slowly transition into full retirement over the next few years.

I no longer actively do photography but within my little company, Group Five Photosports, LLC., myself and three long time helpers stay involved with a few projects in a behind the scenes way. This would include helping finance a project as an investor, providing production space or equipment from my studio buildings, and hosting websites, fanclubs and social profiles for popular models and influencers.

Being semi-retired I'm usually in the office just a few days each week from 10:00am to 4:00pm Colorado time and you're welcome to reach out using the information on the Contact Me page. Take note that I'm very flexible, often enjoying long lunches with friends, but working late into the evening. I return calls and emails as soon as possible but not always on a normal business schedule.

Other than that I'm pretty much your basic 63 year old, single, never married, margarita drinking businessman.
